William Archer (London)
Company Director
International Graduate Insight Group founder, William Archer, has over 20 years' experience of international education and recruitment, combined with 22 years of qualitative and quantitative market research and assessment. He has worked as HR consultant to multinational corporations and governments, as advisor to some of the world's best-known universities and business schools and as an independent expert for NGOs and charities.
William is co-author of many publications including, "Working in the European Union", comparing higher education and recruitment practices across the EU (European Commission, 2003), “Attitudes to Recruitment and Retention – a study of senior managers” (Financial Times, 2004), “Mission Critical? Modernising HR in Higher Education” (HEPI, 2005), “The Market for International Research Students” (UUK, 2008), “Graduate Employability: what do employers think and want?” (CIHE, 2008), “Global Horizons and the Role of Employers” (CIHE, 2008) and “Asia’s Learning Tribes” (2008).
In the 1990s, William pioneered the use of consortia recruitment to reverse the brain drain from Asia and initiated a wave of studies into the attitudes and aspirations of internationally-educated students (Asia Managers, Euro Managers, Africa Managers). He also led initiatives to encourage exiles and recent graduates to return to the new South Africa and other African nations. In 1998 he created The Global Workplace, a recruiting network for alumni of the worlds leading business schools. An alumnus of London Business School and former head of education practice at recruitment specialist Barkers Norman Broadbent, William is non-executive chairman of Tokyo-based strategy house GTFKK.
Kevin Brett (Canberra)
Director of Client Services, Australia
Kevin has been working in international education since 1985. His experience in project management includes design and implementation of education and development programs, transnational education delivery and student mobility initiatives. He also has considerable experience in marketing, business development and student recruitment both in Australia and offshore. His current prime interest is quality assurance in international higher education. Previous positions in Australian Universities include Deputy Director, University of South Australia International from 2001 to 2003, Director UniSA International (2004 - 2005) and Director University of Canberra International (2005 - 2006). He has been engaged in change management, introduction of e-commerce systems, web marketing and risk management.
Nannette Ripmeester (Rotterdam)
Director of Client Services, Europe
Nannette Ripmeester is an internationally acclaimed expert on making a success of the international experience. After obtaining an MA degree from the University of Amsterdam, she started her international career at the European Commission in Brussels in the area of Labour Mobility and worked herself in 17 countries on a project basis. In 1992 Nannette founded Expertise in Labour Mobility, which specialises in advice and information regarding graduate recruitment and provides solutions for international labour mobility.
Nannette is the co-author of 36 career books for young professionals, part of the “Looking for work in...” series , which covers job hunting practices and cultural management differences. Given Nannette’s experiences in several European countries, speaking four different languages and working in an international team, Nannette understands what drives international graduates. Hence her role for i-graduate does not come as a surprise. From the early days of i-graduate, Nannette has been the Director of Client Services Europe, combining knowledge of the Higher Education field with insights into the practicalities of international mobile people.
Pamela Barrett
Senior Consultant, USA
Pamela is an international education expert specialising in external affairs issues in Higher Education worldwide. Until recently Pamela managed the Higher Education Advisory practice at KPMG, one of the “Big Four” global audit and advisory firms. As former Education Attaché at the British Embassy in Washington DC, Pamela was responsible for the transatlantic relationship in education, including working with US Universities and Colleges in 50 states; and with high profile education agencies and organizations. She has extensive experience over 25 years as a Director of international recruitment and marketing, international student services, international fundraising, alumni and Study Abroad programs, including at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania where as Associate Dean she directed international student services, Study Abroad and exchanges and set up an international student recruitment program.
Earlier in her career Pamela established the first USA Year Abroad programs at the University of Sheffield; and was the first Assistant Dean at an American college in London. Pamela is a member of EAIE, NAGAP and NAFSA, the Association of International Educators. Pamela has an undergraduate degree from the University of London, and a graduate degree from the University of Southern California.
