The Staff Barometer

What is the Staff Barometer?

The Staff Barometer, established in 2009, tracks the satisfaction levels and opinions of staff within your institution, and explores themes such as:
• Previous employment
• Reasons for joining the school
• Motivators and reasons for staying at the school
• Potential reasons to leave the school and likely destinations
• Views on the schools sector

How can the Staff Barometer directly benefit your institution?

• Understand why staff join, stay and leave your school and the sector
• Identify how perceptions vary across different groups of staff (e.g. academic/professional, international/domestic) and how this affects motivation, career aspirations and decision-making
• Compare and benchmark staff perceptions against those employed in other institutions
• Attract, motivate and retain talented staff

What you can expect to receive

For the individual school packages we will adapt and personalise the questionnaire to incorporate the structure and language of the school. i-graduate will send you an email with a link to an online questionnaire hosted on i-graduate’s secure server.  You can then forward this email to staff. This approach is confidential, which results in more responses and more honest feedback. Questionnaire responses from all participating institutions are aggregated and analysed. We provide you with a range of visuals, including ranking sheets, comprehensive breakdowns and matrices, to demonstrate the performance of your school. Your results can also be benchmarked against a sector average.
